Honda had recently progressed to no1 in the bike production league and were full of surprises during the era CBX CB400 twin automatic for example but nothing split opinion more than the CX. And the CX500 is the easiest and often the most fun of all of them although like all children I spread my love equally. The electronic ignition system was separate. WHEN a bike within minutes of its 1978 launch acquires the tag Plastic Maggot its safe to assume the machine has been less than well received by the masses.
